Eligibility Criteria for OPSC PGT Recruitment 2024

For eligibility in the OPSC PGT Recruitment 2024, candidates must adhere to specific criteria outlined by the commission:

Age Limit:

Minimum Age: 21 Years
Maximum Age: 38 Years

He or she must be born not earlier than 02-01-1985 and not later than 01-01-2002

EXAMINATION FEE:

No examination fee is required to be paid for applying or appearing in the recruitment as per "Odisha Discontinuance of payment of application and examination fees for recruitment to different Posts and Services in the state Government Rules, 2022."

Educational Qualification:

A candidate must: - (i) have Master's Degree in subject concerned from a recognized University with at least 50% marks in aggregate and have possessed two years Post Graduate Master's Course or integrated six years Post Graduate Master's Course from Regional College of Education recognized by the NCERT in the concerned subject with minimum 50% marks in aggregate. (ii) have B.Ed. or equivalent degree recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education, New Delhi as equivalent with B.Ed. from a recognized University. Provided that B.Ed. qualification shall not be the mandatory eligibility criteria for the post of PGT in the subjects where B.Ed. course is not offered. (iii) Degree or Diploma in Computer Application is desirable qualification subject to production of the certificate in support of above qualification obtained from a recognized University or College or Institution having affiliation to a recognized University. N.B:- B.Ed. qualification for subjects other than Botany, Chemistry, English, Economics, Geography, History, Hindi, Mathematics, Odia, Physics, Political Science, Sanskrit and Zoology shall not be mandatory eligibility criteria for the post of Post Graduate Teacher.

Interview:

Candidates meeting the career evaluation criteria will be invited for the interview process, carrying a weightage of thirty marks.
Three times the total number of Post Graduate Teacher positions per category (subject-wise) will be selected based on post-graduation grades for the Personality Test/Interview.
The final selection list for each subject-specific category will be based on scores obtained in the Career Assessment and Personality Test/Interview.

OPSC PGT Selection Process 2024

Written Test: You answer multiple-choice questions in three papers: English & General Knowledge, your chosen subject, and another set on your subject. Each paper is 2 hours long. Be careful! If you get a question wrong, you lose some points.
Passing Score: You need at least 33% marks in all three papers combined.
Next Round: Those who pass the written test go to a 'Personality Test & Interview.' The commission interviews three times the number of job spots available.
Final Selection: They make a list based on your scores in the written test and interview together. The top candidates get recommended for the job.
